This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My students come from a high poverty community! We are located in the inner city of Baltimore City and have 500 students in our school. Students are at a disadvantage with the amount of math and language arts materials needed.
School is the time for students to become engaged in learning and learn how to be creators, explorers, artists, dreamers, scholars, heroes, and world-changers.
My students are actively engaged every day in purposeful play and enriched curriculum to learn about the world around them and how to change it!
My Project
My students will be able to enhance their learning through the use of educational centers.
It can be a challenge to find valuable educational activities that would be interesting as well as useful in small groups or independent practice.
These centers will allow for my fifth grade and sixth grade students to practice their grammer skills, writing, and reading fluency. The posters will be useful for students to consistenly refer back to them to improve their writing and grammer skills. These books will be a great way for students to practice with a do-now as well as independent work.
