My Students

Kindergarten is such a special age. My students at my school are no different. The have a eagerness to learn. We do something called research in my class and this is where the student find words or information on thier own. They use all the materials in the class to do this and it’s amazing watching them take learning into their own hands. They get so excited about being able to find something on their own and they inspire me to dig deep in the curriculum.

My Project

The reading center is an important part of students education. This is where the love for reading will start. My reading center is an independent area where students go to reinforce skills taught. It needs a wide variety of materials for the students to explore. These phonics puzzles, letter matching and rhyming sorting games will increase their mastery of the curriculum. It will give them an activity they can do independently to enhance their skills. These skills will later assist them as they transition into reading themselves. They will be able to use these skills to read book and research words. They will take control of their education!
