My Students

Reading is a BIG part of our classes. My students are required to read 10 books each nine weeks from many different genres. Students encompass a wide variety of reading levels with an even wider variety of interests.

My students are incredible readers.

So far this year, they have read for a combined total of almost 250,000 pages. Thanks to generous donors, we are in the process of increasing our classroom library. Now, I want to provide them with flexible seating to use during their reading times.

My Project

We are in the process of revamping and revving up our reading center. Thanks to generous donors we have a great start, but we still need a few things--more seating to accommodate more readers and more books for them to read.

My students love to read in our reading center.

With just a few more items like bean bags, end tables, and new books, we can make it an even more special place to be, and in turn encourage even the most reluctant of readers to want to spend time in it. With the addition of more seating, more reading materials, and headphones to use when we read on our computers, our center will be just about perfect!
