Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students this year are...AWESOME! I have 27 students, 20 of whom are in Special Education. Their difficulties range from learning disabilities, autism spectrum disorder, to intellectual disabilities. This year, I am teaching them all day. I have learned to love teaching science and math again because of them!
These kids can and want to learn - they just need the tools!
It is time to update my classroom. These boys and girls need a variety of material to meet their needs. Because many of them are diagnosed with ADHD or ADD, alternative seating options would benefit them as well.
They are an incredible group of students who deserve the best today and always!
My Project
Games, games, and more games! Although life is more than a test, it is a reality. With these new literacy center activities and flexible seating, my students will be engaged while meeting the standards requirements. This will improve their literacy skills and help increase their performance in class and on standardized tests.
These self-checking games provide them with the opportunity to be independent and more accountable for their own learning.
By providing them other seating alternatives, they will be able to focus because they are more comfortable and will be free to make choices for themselves.
