My students need nonfiction reading resources to research for their writing papers and the Eyewitness Nonfiction Readers and Easy Reader Biographies will allow them to conduct research at their reading abilities.
My Resource students let nothing hold them back. They keep trying until they get over the mountain of a learning struggle.
My students have already shown me how resilient they can be and how eager they are to gain more knowledge and expand their learning.
Some of my students have been dealt the hardest struggles (health, emotional, and physical struggles) but are not going to let those struggles hold them back. When they walk through my classroom door, they know they have come to a caring and relaxing environment where it is ok to not be great at everything but that they are great at many things and shouldn't let their weaknesses determine their character. Every day they show me what strength looks like and that it comes in many forms. As my students grow, they have helped me grow at the same time.
My Project
My students are limited to few resources to access when completing research papers due to the lower reading ability. They get frustrated when they have books and programs that require reading at a higher ability than they are. It breaks my heart to see that and I have tried to pull resources to help them succeed and feel confident. Your donation would give them my resources at their reading level without them feeling any different from their peers. Your donation will, also, allow them to access more opportunities to grow and discover new information while feeling even more confident when they master a skill.
My students cannot fully understand what is being asked of them while growing intellectually by just reading out of a textbook and researching from books and websites when they cannot read at the required level to understand the material.
What all my students have in common is a desire to learn and do their best while discovering something new. They get so excited when they get to keep learning while working outside of the textbooks. When they grasp a concept or discover something new, they just light up with excitement because they know they are understanding the curriculum. I love seeing those faces light up and would like to continue seeing it.
