This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
I encourage my students to do their best! I like for my students to start our day with song and movement! My goal is for everyone to feel special and important. We treat each other with respect and love. We don't refer to ourselves as classmates. We call ourselves a classroom family!
I encourage my students to be the best they can be.
I set very high expectations for them. I push them to shoot for the stars. I want each of my students to work hard. I want them to be excited every time they learn something new! My goal as a kindergarten teacher is to keep new centers made for them to work on so they will want to explore new concepts. As we move forward in our school year, I will encourage them to set high goals for themselves. Our goals are put in place so each child can feel inspired to do their very best at all times.
My Project
This project is designed to provide a fun and magical place to pull students in to become better readers. My goal is to provide a fun place in my classroom to teach children not only to read but to learn to love the opportunities reading can give them. The tent, pillows, books, and shelf will be perfect to make a place for students to learn to read, make self-connections and worldly connection to text. I want my students to learn to love reading books and using their imagination. Reading is a very important skill children need to know to be successful in life. My students love books and want to read to me all the time. This special place under a magical tent will keep them coming back for more!
