Reading Can Be Fun!

Help me give my students Reading Club Books - The books I have chosen have diverse characters and are stories about different cultures so all students are exposed to the whole world not just one small part.

My Project

I want to inspire my students to love reading and share stories about more diverse characters and different cultures. I have specifically chosen these titles such as "A Long Walk to Water" and "Save me a Seat" because they have diverse characters facing challenges that my student can relate to.

Reading an exciting book that the whole class reads helps build reading confidence and stamina and models the fun of reading.

We sit on the floor together and share our book club stories each week as we read. Students think about the characters and the stories and how they relate to their lives. Making connections to stories inspires us to love reading.

Students that are excited about reading will become more confident and fluent readers. My goal is to inspire students to be readers for life.
