Every school day, I love observing the different strengths each child possesses and how they grow so much each and every day! When you walk into my Second Grade classroom, you will see a room filled with scientists, musicians, artists, authors, athletes, dreamers, and scholars.
As a teacher, I am always looking for engaging ways to help transform my lessons to make them exciting and engaging for my 2nd graders!
Despite all of my students' academic differences, I love seeing them come together and work as a team!
This is my fourth year teaching in an elementary classroom and I couldn't be more thrilled to see these eager learners enter my classroom and continue to grow throughout the year! The 18 active learners in my classroom are all connected by homes in rural South Dakota. About 47% of our students qualify for free or reduced-price lunches.
My students are creative, fun, eager learners. I want to create unique experiences where they will remember their learning! These kids continuously put a smile on my face and are the reason I love coming to school each day!
My Project
I am wanting to kick off a reading program to help foster a love of reading. To start, I will have my students adopt a stuffed animal puppy as a reading buddy. This reading buddy will get to travel with their student from school to home each day to be ready for reading anytime and anywhere. Each month students will be working on a reading goal to earn extra puppy reading incentives. By doing this I am hoping to instill a love and excitement to read! As a new Second Grade teacher this is one thing I have enjoyed is seeing them learn how to read!
