My students come from diverse backgrounds. Some are from low-income, at risk and/or are bi-lingual and need intensive support in learning. My students are eager to read and write. My students are 7,8 & 9 years old. My students are eager to read while learning about the world they live in, using essential authentic Non-Fiction leveled readers.
My students need intensive support with beginning reading skills.
My school serves pre-K through fifth-grade at-risk students. My students need Non-Fiction leveled reading books for guided reading group and reading interventions. My students will read independently and during small guided reading groups. My students will benefit from taking these books home to read to their parents and other family members as an extension for learning.
My Project
My students need Pioneer Valley books that are real subjects/Non-Fiction books for learning to read about our world. Books like Firefighters, Riding Bicycles, Pandas, JellyFish, Brave Girls in Our World, Martin Luther King Jr., and Leveled Readers for third grade.
My students need Non-Fiction leveled readers such as Firefighters, Pandas, Riding Bicycles, Brave Girls in Our World, and Leveled M Readers for third grade, for guided reading group time.
My students are eager to read independently, with buddies and with me. My students will benefit from having choices to advance their reading skills. Many of my students are bi-lingual learners and will benefit from a variety of books with vibrant colorful pictures to choose from. Many stories have students like themselves-my students are able to see themselves in the texts they are reading, which creates excitement and motivation for reading. Research tells us that excitement and motivation is an important factor in learning to read.
