Help me give my students tools, supplies, games, and fun activities to contribute to their education on phonics, reading, and writing. Each of these tools will be used to keep students engaged and ready to learn!
I am a first-year teacher, and I have not yet met my students, but here is a little information about the community I will be teaching in. I recently accepted a job as a first-grade teacher in my home town of Snook, Texas.
My first graders come from a small, rural town where everyone knows everyone.
The community is very loving and supportive of the students at SES, but due to the fact that it is a very small town, the district has limited funds. Many of my students come from low-income households, and the ethnicity ranges from about 50% White, 25% Hispanic, and 25% African American. They are all also very involved in the community and participate in many extracurricular activities outside of school. The students in my class deserve the very best education and supplies, and this is where you can make a difference.
My Project
All of the items in this project will be used to contribute to and enhance my first-grade students' reading and writing skills. There are a variety of different games, projects, and other tools that will not only help students learn the content material expected of them but will also increase their engagement and create a fun, interactive classroom atmosphere. It is important for students to truly enjoy learning in order for them to be and stay engaged in new material.
These supplies will be used throughout the year in literacy and writing centers, as well as my classroom library.
With these tools, students will be able to practice sight words, word families, reading, writing complete sentences, and much more.
