I have 13 amazing students in my self-contained classroom. My students are creative, fun, energetic, and are on the autism spectrum, all on different levels. I look forward to going to work each day and learning from my students. Every day is an adventure, and I am blessed and honored to know each of these students and spend my day with them.
Autism can present different opportunities, each day, to grow and work through a challenge.
I admire the strength in each of these young people, and I want to help them achieve greatness.
I work at a high poverty school, and although I am supported, it can take a village to make a classroom run smoothly. My students learn differently from their typical peers, which requires different items and curriculum to help them be successful each day.
My Project
I need reading, writing and comprehension curriculum. Each year my classroom changes as does what it needs to fulfill my student's needs. I teach a self-contained classroom for students with Autism grades 6th- 8th. My students are beautiful, amazing and have a unique way to learn. Every one of my students is different academically which creates a lot of work, planning, and variety to access each student's full potential.
I am asking for reading, writing and comprehension materials to help me better engage my students.
