In a typical day in my classroom, you can find my nine and ten year old students working in pairs and small groups to grow their reading and writing skills. They work hard each and every day with smiles on their faces!
I have 26 interesting, funny and smart fourth graders in my classroom each day.
They are eager to learn and explore new concepts. Our school is located in a small town in the Sierra Nevada foothills. Many of my students come from low and middle income families. Our school is K-8 and has about 660 students. Many of the students are on free or reduced lunch.
My Project
My students need resources that will help them meet the ELA Common Core State Standards. They need Tricky Words and Phrases Activity Cards, Exploring Genres Center Activities, Read and Revise Write and Practice Cards, among other reading and writing activities. With these activities my students will be able to practice their revision and editing skills, compare and contrast grade level literature and nonfiction text, practice important vocabulary, identify reading genres, and more! My students are budding readers and writers that relish hands on activities and materials. These activities will allow my students to work in small groups on engaging activities that are directly aligned with our 4th grade standards.
Your donation will truly benefit my students.
Putting these activities and centers in their hands every day will increase their Reading and Writing skills exponentially. With these items in our classroom, my students will be able to meet the Common Core State Standards with engaging and hands on activities.
