Help me give my students more books for our classroom library. Not only books but help me provide microphones to encourage student's voice, whether that means projecting their ideas in class or for public speaking.
Adventure is out there! My students love to go on adventures through their learning. As a new teacher, I am excited to foster my student's excitement for reading, writing, math, science, etc. My students are in 2nd grade and most of my students are English Learners. They love to do hands-on activities where they are challenged to think outside the box. They are all wonderful students who will become critical thinkers and impact our world for the better one day.
My students are curious, enthusiastic, and thoughtful individuals who love to explore the world around them.
They continually ask questions to understand how things work. I am so lucky to be the teacher of this wonderful group of student.
My Project
In this project, I have included more books for my classroom library. There are themes in these books that I will highlight in my classroom such as kindness, creativity, growth mindset, yet.
This project will inspire my students to eventually become leaders in STEM-related careers and will help them find their voice.
I have included more books that have female role models for my young girl students to encourage them to see themselves as engineers, scientists, etc. Many books with these roles have male characters so I want my girls to see that it is possible for girls as well. I have included picture books as well as chapter books for my students who need more support for reading and those who need to be challenged.
I have also included two wireless microphones for my students to use to encourage them to use their voice. The students will use the microphones when we share our writing, ideas, and other times to encourage projection of voice especially for my shy students. These microphones will be a fun way for students to want to speak up in class.
