Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Kindergarten is an essential time for children to discover a love for learning. My class has students with a wide variety of needs, including differing ethnic and economic backgrounds, language needs, and social-emotional needs. My students have a variety of learning styles which require teaching through visuals, manipulatives, songs, and imaginative play.
My goal is for my students to have an incredible experience in Kindergarten and develop a passion for learning.
This is such a critical time for students to establish their academic foundation. These are an energetic group of kids that enjoy fun, engaging activities. I want to set these students of for success by allowing them to move throughout the day in an appropriate way.
My Project
This is my first year teaching and I do not have many resources available to me. It has been difficult as a first year teacher trying to provide for these students with my own funds. I want to give the best opportunities for my students to succeed socially, emotionally, and academically.
My goal is to have a leveled library so that they are able to find books easily at their own level.
I would like manipulatives to allow my students to explore math and language concepts kinetically. At this young age, they learn so much through the use of their hands and need appropriate ways to explore in a classroom. I want quality supplies that will last a long time and continue to be used for years to come.
