Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I teach a group of very enthusiastic kindergartens. In our class we strive to our best potential. We do not believe in giving up. My students are learning to be their best self and become "smarty pants." I teach to their interest in letters, sounds, sight words, and math.
We motivate each other academically and emotionally.
My students are a special bunch. They motivate me everyday to be the best teacher I can for them. I want to give my students everything they need in order to succeed in my class and move on to 1st grade ready for the next hurdle in their academic career.
My Project
I want my students to start exploring their abilities in reading, and be able to grab a book that has words they recognize. Having a small library they can go after their must do's will really help them self motivate to read. Some of the materials selected will be incorporated within my lessons. For example, I will be able to incorporate some of the stories provided in the level A reading books and have my student volunteer to read during centers or whole class.
I want my students to be self aware of what they can use for their center can do time.
Having a variety of Manipulatives and books will help them practice and enjoy learning more.
