My Students

Our school is in a rural community. All students are eligible for free breakfast daily. 75% of the students qualify for free or reduced-price lunch. Many kids live below the poverty line.

My kindergarteners show enthusiasm for learning.

They are curious and ask questions about the world around them. Their minds are like a sponge and will soak up all the information that I provide them.

I love that they are excited to come to school everyday, learn as much as they can and then leave with the biggest smiles in their faces!

My Project

The items that I have selected will help my students tremendously. I have chosen manipulatives that are related to content standards that kindergartners need to master before going on to first grade. Magnetic letter tiles will help with students letter and sound recognition as well as learning to read words. Alphabet sounds teaching tubs will allow students to experience a group of items (words) that begin with the same sound. I also chose math manipulatives such as ten frames and unifix cubes to reinforce math skills.

My students will learn the necessary skills and will benefit throughout the entire school.
