My Students

My students face quite a few challenges in their life. As their band teacher, I strive daily to show the children that you can make your life better if you are educated properly. My students come to school as ready as they can be. They are respectful and love to say hello and goodbye when passing through the hallways. I love being able to see their faces and show them how to be positive and learn at the same time.

My Project

Every school day from one o'clock to one-thirty, I have the pleasure of challenging my fifth hour class to accomplish their reading goals. The school sets the requirements for the amount of passed quizzes they must take on their books. I reward them for passing their goals each quarter. They like to rise up to the challenge and I love it.

The trouble is that the students have read almost all of the books on our classroom shelf.

Since there is a need for more books about music and musicians, I would love to have more books on that subject to heighten their interest about band class. Please consider a donation to this project.
