My students need a Classroom CD/Cassette Player to engage students in reading and exploring books.

I have 27 students in my classroom 16 boys and 11 girls. 25 of my students are African American, 1 is white, and 1 is Hispanic. All of my students are from a small rural town and receive free school lunch.
Our primary grades set the foundation for students' educational success or failure.
As a second grade teacher in a low income rural school, I receive many students each year who have faced more struggles than most adults, but they still come with a light in their eyes. These students have the ability to become world leaders, theorists, engineers, or anything they set their minds to. They only need a little assistance to reach their full potential
I see curiosity behind my second graders' eyes that is left unfulfilled in many ways. I strive each day to build their love for learning, and provide them with as many experiences I can to build their world knowledge. I strive to provide them the tools they need to become researchers and investigators of the world around them.
Students in my classroom will use the CD/Cassette Player with Bluetooth, and the science books with CD's to integrate learning, build a love for reading, and experience books at and beyond their reading abilities.
Reading is the foundation of learning that affects every other aspect of a child's education.
Many of my second graders are struggling readers, who will benefit from hearing books read to them while reading along in their books. I am specifically excited to bring in science books to a listening center. Many science books contain new concept vocabulary words that are difficult for beginning readers to read and understand independently.
As a second year teacher, I am trying to build a complete classroom library. Although we have many books to choose from in our classroom, many students struggle to read books on grade level. A working listening center will allow more students to read independently and successfully.
Please consider helping me build enthusiasm for reading by providing my students with a way to fill successful while reading. Help us build a solid foundation in literacy for our primary students.
