My classroom is a group of enthusiastic 2nd graders. We love to study literacy, math, science, and social studies. Having created a safe classroom community throughout the school year, we are a community of young people who take risks to learn! We encourage each other through collaborative learning through all subjects.
Our classroom is home to 21 second graders, most of whom come from bilingual and immigrant households.
In an underfunded school district, we would greatly appreciate resources to continue our learning!
These whisper phones are essential for my early readers to use as they practice reading independently each day. As students read into these phones, their whisper voice is projected into their ear. This allows them to read quietly so that their classmates can focus, but projects the volume to their own ears so that they can self-regulate their reading.
Research shows that whisper phones will allow my readers to hear their own voice as they read, improving focus, attention, and engagement.
As students hear their own voice reading a text, it will lead to an increase of phonemic awareness and comprehension. Help our young readers get the most out of their reading time with these whisper phones!
