Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Every one of my students is unique and has different learning needs, interests, and abilities.
I have a very diverse group of students, and it's important that I differentiate instruction for every student.
I have students from different socioeconomic backgrounds and cultural backgrounds. My students' reading levels, math levels, athletic abilities, and learning abilities are all different.
Since my students are reading at different levels, I feel that the best curriculum is Reader's Workshop. It has been wonderful for my students! Reader's Workshop has given my students the opportunity to develop a LOVE of reading and gives them the CHOICE to choose different books at their just right reading level.
My Project
After attending a Reader's Workshop conference last summer, I realized the importance of having a rich classroom library. That's why my students are given the opportunity to book shop in our classroom at least once every week. I want my students to shop for books they love!
All students should be given the choice to choose books at their reading level and interest; it helps foster a love of reading.
I want students to get hooked on books. I hope they find books engaging and meaningful and discover books in every literary genre.
