My Students

My students deserve the most wonderful classroom filled with a variety of resources, supplies and activities that help foster their love of learning! As a first year teacher I am struggling to provide all of the necessary materials that I know my students need. I am teaching 24 first grade students in an urban public school. The majority come from low-income families.

All of my students bring a variety of strengths and areas of need to the classroom, as well as their energy, creativity, passion and perseverance.

I hope to be the best teacher I can be for my students and therefore ask for your help!

My Project

My students need leveled books for our classroom library. I have 24 first graders who are growing into independent readers. All of my students are reading at different levels and need books that support their individual reading skills. As a first year teacher a major challenge for our classroom has been a lack of quality books. All of my students deserve access to a high quality classroom library that will provides numerous opportunities for these young readers to flourish. With the addition of these books, our classroom library will become a much better resource for all of my young learners.
