My students need a Nonfiction Leveled Books Classroom Library in order to access informational and high interest reading materials at the level which they are able to read independently. These will help nurture lifelong readers!

My classroom is located in an elementary school in a very low income area of Massachusetts. My kids usually have a difficult time acquiring even the most basic of educational supplies such as folders, pencils, and crayons never mind creative supplies such as construction paper, colored pencils, and technology.
My students are creative, thoughtful and full of excitement!
They absolutely love to learn hands-on and engaging projects and challenges that allow them to think outside the box to find solutions! They come to school each day ready to try new things and take brave chances in order to grow both personally and academically. Truly, they are my inspiration!
My students must persevere to gain the needed reading skills while learning English as a Second Language. They are struggling between two languages and need the best resources to become fluent readers.
Students in my classroom are extremely motivated and always push through their language barriers.
Having a set of readers in different levels will help my students to stay interested in reading and also gain access to a new world of information. These leveled books will give my students the opportunity to feel success with reading by using nonfiction, informational topics. I would love to help my students become lifelong readers and show them that books come in all varieties.
Struggling readers will often shy away from the task and give up easily because they do not want to be embarrassed that they do not know a word or words. Students who read these nonfiction leveled readers are able to find that reading can be fun and it will help them want to read more for enjoyment! Helping students begin to learn that reading is fun is a perfect way to build better readers. My students will love getting their hands on books filled with nonfiction information at their own independent reading level.
