My Students

Students participate in small and whole group instruction, which is delivered by the teacher. They are provided with the opportunity to demonstrate learning through various tools, such as individual whiteboards, manipulatives and other interactive resources.

Made up of thirty one first grade students, each with their own unique learning styles and ability levels, there is never a dull moment in our room!

Fun activities, colorful personalities, strong relationships, and a love for learning are all characteristics that one would use to describe our class. However, with all the excitement and coordinated chaos comes hard work, dedication, and ultimately, teamwork. I have been blessed with not only wonderful students, but also a supportive team of parents and staff.

My Project

My classroom is filled with readers of varying abilities. In order to best help each child reach his/her own individualized reading goal, I use leveled reading. I fill each child's book box with their own leveled books in the classroom. Right now I am out of certain levels of books, therefore some of my kids have hardly any books in their book boxes.

Research shows that the best way for children to increase their reading ability is to read books at their instructional reading level.

My classroom parents are SO wonderful that they are begging me every single day for bags of books to read at home, yet I have none to give them! The online leveled reading component of RAZ Plus will allow students and parents to access almost an unlimited amount of leveled books from their phones, ipads, tablets and computers!
