This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My classroom is a group of enthusiastic 2nd graders. We love to study literacy, math, science and social studies. Having created a safe classroom community throughout the school year, we are a community of young people who take risks to learn! We encourage each other through collaborative learning through all subjects.

Our classroom is home to 21 second graders, most of whom come from bilingual and immigrant households.

In an underfunded school district, we would greatly appreciate resources to continue our learning!

My Project

My students have grown to be voracious readers this year. Their favorite part of our day has quickly become the time they have to curl up and read their favorite books from our classroom library. They love to read anywhere: on the floor, under a table, on the carpet, during recess, during lunch, and sometimes even walking in the hall.

Although my students are now avid readers, they don't have anywhere to store their favorite books; this is where we need your help!

We need book bins to store the piles of books that my students love to devour.

We would truly appreciate your assistance!
