My Students

My students at CHS are outstanding students who get excited about learning new things! Getting students to read has been a struggle- constantly battling cell phones, video games and other technology as well as the extra curriculars they are involved in.

I do not think it is ever too late to learn to LOVE reading.

Reading is a passion of mine and I believe that reading every day is so beneficial for students. Covid-19 was detrimental to reading as students were at home for extended periods and were not engaged in reading.

My Project

These books will add to my reading list for my 7th and 8th grade book club. I try to find books that will nourish and even help develop a love for reading. Daily reading is so important for all aspects of learning. The pandemic has caused a gap in my student's reading levels and I am working to bring them all to level while also exposing them to new literature.

This project will be used in my 7th and 8th grade Academic Commitment to Education class where I do book club every week.
