My Students

I teach second grade at a school where students thrive on the success of each other, creating a loving environment for their classmates. Every morning, my students come to class with an eagerness to learn. They are a group of 19 amazing students, who work hard to come out on top with their learning.

My students encourage each other to be the best they can be and to create a loving community throughout the classroom.

They support each other in their learning, and work hard to become great lifelong learners.

My Project

My students love to read; it's one of their most favorite times of day! They love to find a quiet, cozy space to escape inside of a book, whether that be by themselves or with a buddy. One of the biggest challenges we can face in 2nd grade is knowing how to choose a good fit book that is just right for their reading level.

By having this leveled library, my students will know exactly what bins to pull from for good fit books to add to their books bags.

This will give my class the opportunity to practice reading a variety of titles at their levels. I couldn't think of a better way to build our classroom library. By having books specific to their reading levels, my students will be able to practice their reading strategies as well as follow the progression and move up levels throughout the school year.
