Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Project

Mary McLeod Bethune, founder of Bethune-Cookman University, once said, “The whole world opened to me when I learned to read.”

My second grade students are hungry for books at home.

They often forget to bring library books back to school because, as they say, "I like reading it over and over again."

Help me get a book into every second grader's hands this year in honor of Read Across America Week 2023. Students will choose from their favorite characters and will be able to take these characters home to enjoy these fun stories as many times as they like.
