Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Project

My 10th Grade English Students spend 20 minutes a day reading independent choice book. We spend the time every day in order to increase their reading levels, expose them to vocabulary, and to hopefully foster a love of reading.

My students deserve a high-interest, diverse classroom library to help foster their reading growth.

In addition, I would like to be able to present each student with a certificate of recognition at the end of the marking period to acknowledge their reading growth and accomplishments. This celebration will help to build a culture of reading in my classoom!
