This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
I love our student's confidence, boldness, eagerness to learn, exploration, trust, and love for school. Our students peer teach throughout the day while they endure the social distancing, and enjoy laughter with one another. They love letter sounds and writing stories as well. They are very unique! I love seeing their faces each day behind our masks.
I would love to give my students the tools that they need to succeed while getting familiar with sight words and print-rich words.
They will become strong readers with comfort while reading. I am learning something new from each one of the students. Their styles of learning through their interest. They have shown great interest in letter recognition, letter sounds, reading, and a good read-aloud. Let's just say they are eager to learn in their own style of learning.
My Project
These books will continue to enhance the print-rich classroom that I strive to create for our preschoolers, ton get ready for Kindergarten. I read during nap, and D.E.A.R to them, as a read-aloud. With these books, they will be able to recognize sight words and make an attempt to read. Each book has been chosen with my students in mind. I have watched them the past couple of months of school show interest in the books that have been read to them. I talked to them about getting more books of their interest. Our students will be able to choose books, which will help them continue to enjoy read-aloud/independent reading time.
