My students range from kindergarten to 2nd grade. Learning to read should be fun and motivating! Some students need extra support to build the skills needed to become successful readers. Having a warm, cozy, and comfortable environment to read in is very motivating for students.
We encourage students to read independently in their own spaces while we confer with them to check on decoding, comprehension, and fluency.
I am an intervention specialist who services struggling readers. My students range in age from k-2 and they all have various needs and need various materials.
My Project
These books encourage students to practice early reading skills at home! Students who read at school AND at home are more likely to attain reading skills needed to be successful. Books need to be engaging and motivate kids to read.
The more you read the more you grow!
Access to books at home is not a luxury many students have. These books are decodable and highly engaging for kids. There are also sight word books to help students learn high frequency words. I am looking to motivate my students to spend more time with actual books and less time on screens!
