Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I am the luckiest teacher in the world because I get to spend each day with enthusiastic little learners who are eager. They love to learn and find answers to questions. I work with many students who are English language learners and students with special needs, but they are the hardest workers I know! My students need a comfortable environment so they feel at ease and confident each day and ready to learn. Many students do not have manny books at home. They need classroom books that are engaging so foster a love of learning. These students usually have farther to go but reach goals because of their effort.

This is the kind of sentence I love to hear students exclaiming during readers' workshop.
This is a time in our day when students are reading books that are just right for them. They feel successful at what they are doing and learn to love reading because of this. Readers' workshop is special in my classroom because everyone gets their own reading spot. We recently changed over to a new rigorous curriculum. It is helping students move reading levels but I need more books that match our curriculum. The leveled readers I’m requesting for our classroom do just that. It is so important that each child is reading books that are not too easy or too difficult so they love to read. These leveled readers are specific for each reading level for all students in first grade. These leveled books will help our independent reading time run smoothly and make it easier for us to make growth.
