My Students

"Writers need to READ, READ, and READ," R.L. Stine said, and my students need more authentic literature to help them apply this quote to their everyday lives.

My students are a group of diverse fourth graders in a suburban area.

They have a desire to learn and grow as leaders in our classroom. This project will help them grow as readers. As we begin the school year they are excited to engage in reading and become deep thinkers.

My Project

These grade leveled readers will allow my students to build their reading comprehension skills and vocabulary skills through authentic literature. These readers will allow me to engage students in deep thinking about reading which will help them grow as twenty first century learners.

At this time as we transition to the Common Core Standards, our classroom resources are limited on authentic literature and I want to impart a love of reading in my students.

This project will allow me to give a reading selection choice across the genres to engage all levels of readers.
