I am a special education teacher in a regular public School in SC. My students are severely Learning Disabled and are placed in a self-contained classroom with an alternative curriculum. My assistant and I teach 15 students in grades 3-5, all subjects, all day. Many students we serve for more than one year.
Reading is so important for children. My request is for classroom books. I need books on levels from kindergarten to 3rd grade on a variety of topics.
We encourage our students to read at every opportunity and try to motivate their efforts with rewards and praise.
We have high hopes for what these children can achieve and our wish is to give them every opportunity to learn while they are with us.
I would especially love to have collections of non-fiction books on the different reading levels. Our students really love learning about real world people and situations through literature.
Please help us to broaden these special minds with a classroom library full of learning and enjoyment opportunities.
