Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Our school serves students in an area of Omaha where many students receive free or reduced lunch. We are a 7th and 8th grade building and serve about 850 students. We have many students who struggle with reading and are below their grade level in reading skills. We also have many students who are reluctant readers and have to be motivated to read.

Each quarter, students who have read at least 450 pages or more get to attend a Readers ARE Leaders Celebration!
We have one each quarter and students who meet their goals all four quarters are acknowledged at our school Honors Night!
Let's Celebrate our Reader Leaders!
During the celebration, we let the students get a free book and spend some time having fun with their friends who have also meet their reading goals.
What is a celebration without a reward? This is where we need your help. We want to provide every student a snack and a cool bookmark to help them celebrate!
