Our Fine Art Magnet School is full of students who strive to display their talents in a variety of ways such as dance, song, and art. Every student is capable of great successes and each finds their own way of doing so.

Of my 15, there are multiple students with emotional requirements and learning needs as well. I strive to create a classroom community where students know they are loved, and accepted for trying their best and showing what they can do!
My Project
The best part of my day as a teacher is my read aloud time with my students. I love sitting down at the carpet area to introduce a new book to my kids. Some of the best books teach valuable lessons that can last a lifetime. Not only that, many books can help students connect themselves to the various standards I teach throughout the school year.
When you can connect a student's lives to everyday teaching it can make an huge difference in their learning.
With many of these books in my selection I know that my students will see themselves in the varying characters. They can see famous African American leaders or inventors, women who never gave up on their dreams, and individuals who chose kindness to change the world. I hope to keep building my classroom library with important and influential texts that can continue to build a life long love for reading in all of my students.
