Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

Most students come from homes and communities that are economically challenged. I enjoy my job and want to do an effective job of getting my students to learn in a nurturing and safe environment. But, in order to have successful students, I am advocating for funds and materials that will help them be more innovative and become lifelong learners and use critical thinking skills that will help them succeed. So, any materials that are kid friendly I can incorporate into a center would be greatly appreciated. I would love to establish a listening center, effective writing center, and phonics center. Thanks in advance for your consideration in funding this project!

My Project

Some students learn through auditory perception. In order to keep the learning interesting and students engaged, students can use headphones and read-along books in the listening center. Students tend to learn better if they can block out whats going on around them and concentrate on the task at hand.

A listening center will help students to become stronger readers in order to keep up with the ever-changing and fast-paced world around them.

It also gives the teacher a way to focus on small groups, but have students engaged in the learning process continuously. Thank you for helping our children become strong readers.
