Mr. Cumbess from Houston TX is requesting Computers & Tablets through DonorsChoose, the most trusted classroom funding site for teachers.
My students need headphones with microphones and an iPad so they can use them with the read 180/system 44 reading program.
My students are girls and boys ages 10-13. What makes them unique is that they need love and support at home and at school. Many are in need of that extra push of love and support to help them achieve their goals.
Their neighborhood is a very diverse one.
These children are from cultures across the globe. Through this they have learned to embrace people who do not share in their culture and beliefs. This is what makes them special.
The headphones with microphones will greatly assist my students because of the Read 180 program that we use. It requires the use of headphones with microphones so students can interact with the computer. They interact with the computer on a daily basis so working headphones with microphones are a must. The iPad will allow them to access the internet and read on MyOn, Capstone, Accelerated Reader, BrainPop, Think Through Math, and countless other programs that require internet access. Todays students love reading online. Many prefer electronic media to print. The case will help to protect it. My students are eager to learn!
