This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

We're welcoming our students back very soon. My kids are a diverse group of the kindest souls. Covid and being away from the educational home has been tough on them. We're all excited to have some normalcy even if it's a new normal.

My Project

Nearly all of my students are minorities. I feel like there isn’t enough literature that is written for them. I want them to pick up a book and learn about someone who has faced similar challenges. I can guide them but there’s no way I will ever know what being a person of color means to them. It’s so important for the hero to be someone they can relate to and see within themselves. My kids are wonderful. With your help they can make some big changes in our communities.
