This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
We were a victim of Hurricane Matthew. Most of my students lost their homes and had to be placed in shelters. The area I work in is low socioeconomically, and most students receive free or reduced price lunch.
My students are very eager to learn, and before the flood were on the road to a great school year.
It is my goal to provide them with a positive atmosphere so that they will be able to return to and can learn in an unrestricted environment.
My Project
The books along with the CDs will allow the students to recognize words when read. The students will learn to recognize words as they are read and followed along by the students. Some students learn by hearing and the CDs will allow these students to learn at a faster paste. Students will pair and share after they have heard the books on the CD. This will give each student the opportunity to partner, pair, and share. Reading is very important and students are encouraged to read daily. Students will listen to the books daily and draw a picture to express what they have learned.
