My Students
I teach 3 classes of 5th grade Language Arts. My students are fun loving, inquisitive, book nerds. They love reading all different genres and devour books at a break neck pace.
My students crave attention, and savor building relationships with their teachers and classroom community. They work hard when they know they are cared for and valued.
Most of the kiddos come from homes where book access is limited, so it's important for them to be able to find the books they love at school.
I love my students and want them to be successful in life, as well as in the classroom.
My Project
As I said in my classroom description, my kiddos love to read! I am working hard to create a culturally diverse and socially relevant classroom library, but I need help. I spend a lot of time teaching my kiddos that the only way to get better at reading is to read, read, read, and read some more.
Creating a safe space full of diverse books is so important to me and good for my amazing students!
I have included titles by a variety of authors in a variety of genres. I think my students would also enjoy having some comfortable seating for reading.
