Help me give my students books that are the Children's and Teen Choice Book Awards nominees. These books will be directly in students' hands to be read and then kept in the classroom library.
If you could look into my classroom right now you'd see students reading a variety of middle grade and young adult novels. They love reading and gobble up books with enthusiasm. We love to share that reading with the lower grade classrooms. This year the middle school students will be reading and evaluating the Children’s and Teen Choice Book Awards nominees.
By providing multiple copies of these books more students will be able to read in preparation for Children's Book Week, April 29-May 3.
After Children's Book Week and the voting for the Children’s and Teen Choice Book Awards, these books will be in classroom libraries, where students can borrow them anytime.
My Project
These books will help my students not only read great literature but also lead them to analyze and evaluate books prior to voting for Children’s and Teen Choice Book Awards. This award is important because it is the only one that allows children and teens, the intended audience for these books, to vote on their favorite.
We have a big week planned at school, culminating in a community night that celebrates everything books.
On the community night students will be able to vote for books they have read. Putting these books into the hands of our readers will make a huge difference to our school and our students.
