My Students

My students are coming in from three VERY different feeder schools. This alone makes middle school very frightening. My goal every year is to connect students through various books and book projects. Middle school students love movies and music, so what better way to combine these than to have them make book trailers or mini movies about the books they are reading. While we are a 1:1 district, the chromebooks we use simply do not enable us to have this creative freedom.

My Project

My students have worked hard to come together as a class this year. They are from three very different feeder schools, which makes friendships challenging. I have found that by sharing my love of books, along with their love of movies and music, we have been able to build new friendships and collaborate much more effectively.

While our district is a 1:1 Chromebook district, the Chromebooks do not have the capabilities to create the movie trailers and mini movies my students want to create.

By helping my class to get a Surface Pro, my students will be able to create projects that will bring them together as a group and help to form those long lasting friendships.
