This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
The Little Engineers in my classroom are very exciting and exercise their curiosity to the fullest extent. They strive hard to be successful and practice being critical thinkers daily. Our school's main focus is STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) so my ultimate goal is to ensure that my students receive an enriched education that leads them to be the best independent learners possible. They have shown that they love working on hands-on projects especially in science and math this year.
My Project
In our classroom, the library area is supposed to be the place where positive interactions are mostly encouraged. Presently, we are in critical need of bringing that particular area of our room to life so that the scholars could actively engage in independent as well as social reading. The main goal of this project is to promote active reading and also help keep my students become more motivated about reading various genres of books without hesitation. Literacy is a subject that most of my scholars usually struggle with due to their lack of resources. As a result I feel that if our library area was more inviting and accommodating then all of my scholars should become less timid and more adventurous about picking up and enjoying the benefits of a book.
