My Students

I teach a 2nd/3rd grade mixed abilities self-contained classroom. My students are so sweet and caring. I just finished my first year as a mixed abilities teacher and have learned so much. Any time I felt discouraged, I reminded myself that my students feel discouraged a lot of times and if they don't give up, then I won't give up either!

My students struggle every day just to be able to learn.

I try to provide an environment where they feel safe and loved. I tell them every day they can do and be anything they want to do. It just takes hard work and not giving up.

My Project

I want to create an area where students can sit on a bean bag or lay down on a soft, cozy rug whenever they are needing some down time.

There are times we all need an area by yourself so that we can refocus.

I will have a large bookcase with lots of books students will be able to look at while they are having their down time. I will also include some stuff animals students will be able to cuddle with as well.

I want my classroom to make students feel like they are home. Where students know they are loved and cared for.
