All students at our elementary school are amazing and have a heart of gold. There are many students that feel that reading Is just another "task". I am looking to convert our room into a cozy space to read, write, and relax using all sorts of tools and materials!
I am making it my goal to introduce many types of books to students and find exactly what they will ENJOY!
Reading IS fun, they just need to find the right book to get them started! Once they have found that "just right" book, they will be able to draw pictures and write about what they are reading. Connections, connections, connections! I also would like to create an ambience of calm and relaxing while they are loving to read. The cozy seating, fun lighting, and extra snacks to enjoy is just what motivates our classroom and will be such an amazing experience for all students!!
What more could 5th graders want...food, comfy seating and loads of books to choose from! We are trying to grow our classroom library by the end of first semester!
