My Students

Our students come from a rural area with many small towns. Our school combines these students into a PK-2 setting. We have 220 students in our building.

Our school is low-income with 100% of the students receiving free breakfast and lunch.

We are a Title I school and have a high number of homeless students.

I work with students grades K-2 in small groups. Many of my kindergarten students come to school prepared and ready to learn, but many of them have no preschool background and are lacking pre-reading skills.

My Project

During this unusual time, I would like to be able to make sure my students know that I am thinking about them and want them to continue reading.

These books will be a great surprise for my students!

The books will be mailed to my 15 kindergarten intervention students. They will love getting the mail and being able to share these books with members of their families.

We have read a lot of Mo Willems books in class, so I know they will enjoy this book. The other book, I felt was appropriate if I was mailing it to them and it looked super cute!
