I teach an amazing group of 5th grade students in Chicago. They absolutely love learning and challenge themselves each and every day to do their best. They are motivated, hardworking, and energetic.
It is so fun as their teacher to watch them come to school each day with huge smiles on their faces, ready to work hard and do their very best.
When they are having a tough day or something isn't quite going their way, my students make an effort to be as positive as possible. They work together and help each other, and as their teacher, that makes me so proud to see. They impress me on a daily basis with their upbeat attitudes, their dedication to improving themselves, and their hard work ethic.
My Project
These materials will help make a difference in my students' learning because they will provide us with skills and strategies to use in our reading and writing fifth grade classroom. My students have a wide range of interests when it comes to books and I don't physically have all of the books that they are craving. We are in need of the Harry Potter series, the Who Was series, books about sports, and books about citizenship and civil rights. These books will provide my students with opportunities to learn about topics they are interested in and will give them chances to read things that they want to read, which is so necessary.
