Do you remember when you were first learning how to read or learning a new word and having that light bulb go on in your head? That's my students this year. They have been so excited about learning new words through different types of text. My students share that same excitement and joy of learning new words as we read the next book in their favorite series. My students are curious, voracious readers who are longing to discover the newest adventures in their favorite book series.
My students are book-lovers, passionate readers, and energetic learners.
Students at my school are learning through a house system on how to become better citizens in our school community. They are learning how to work together in houses to make our school better. By each student participating in the house system they are learning traits that make them better learners and strive to be better people. As learners they strive to be better at writing, reading, arithmetic, and science/social studies. All these subject being equal in importance to them. There is a buzz about being people learners and citizens in our school.
My Project
These books with enhance the print-rich classroom that I strive to create. My classroom library is a place students can go to jump into a new book where they can have experiences through a new adventure. It also is a place where my students really enjoy to read and become better readers. Every student book that is placed in my classroom library is treated with care and love, and the students look forward to finding a new book to read each times they get the opportunity to read. All of these books have been chosen with my students in mine, therefore, they each will be enjoyed to the fullest.
With these books, my students will be able find a book that is just right for them and will allow them to be reading on their personal reading level.
These books with allow each student to find a book that interest them and in hand will help them become better readers. The best way to increase reading abilities is to read more, and these books will do just that.
