In this class, we build a community around what we have in common and our shared experiences. I want my students to know that just because they have learning deficits, it doesn’t limit them to what they can do. I call my students "Special Superheroes because sometimes real superheroes live in the hearts of small children fighting big battles!” Learning is not in a box! I am hoping to build excellent socioemotional skills as they matriculate through school. RBMS is a public rural middle school located in Greene County, Alabama. The population ranges between 500-800 people. It is considered one of the poorest counties in the State of Alabama. Assistance in the classroom will help self-esteem skills that could be beneficial in helping the area grow and develop efficient leaders.
Reading is the fundamentals for all Common core subject areas. My students must keep up with the latest advancements in education to spark an interest in reading. Education is changing every single day, and so are the interest of my students. Since the pandemic has started, our students have been struggling to get back on track when it comes to the Literacy Act and the requirements for reading on Standardized Tests. My ultimate goal is to provide students as many resources as I can to assure that we see growth in our children's Reading abilities. With this reading subscription, it will allow my students the opportunity to assist in improving their reading skills. These programs will assist in: Reading Comprehension, Coinciding with the Alabama Common Core standards, and a plethora of other skills in reading. If this project is funded, It will help children in our low poverty area excel!
