My Students

I work with a wonderfully, diverse group of students, who bring a wide range of experiences and backgrounds into the classroom. These differences provide many opportunities for learning from each other, but also present challenges in the form of different learning styles and abilities.

At our Title I school in Colorado, 100 percent of our students receive free breakfast and lunch with many students receiving backpack food on the weekends.

Our school is located in a low socioeconomic area with a high crime rate.

Even with so many hardships, my students are eager to learn and do their best. They want to be in school because they understand the importance of getting a good education for their futures. Providing a safe and rich learning environment for my students is my number one priority.

My Project

With my students learning from home, it is important to have tools that will help them continue to make progress in reading. Read Naturally Live is a reading program that can help my students accomplish this. It is a great program that will help my English learners, special education students, and other struggling readers continue to make progress in reading even during a difficult time. Funding for this project will provide this useful program for 30 struggling students on read plans. We appreciate your generosity and support during this pandemic.
